MACARIO DE LEON SAKAY (1870-1907)
ANOTHER "VICTIM OF HISTORY"
THE RIGHTFUL HEIR (I.E. THE TRUE SUCCESSOR-LEADER) of the
"unfinished revolution" initiated by Andres Bonifacio was his
fellow TAGALOG MACARIO SAKAY.
I remember when I was still a teenager sporting long hair (not
to keep in fashion but out of sheer laziness to get a haircut!)
my grandmother & "grandaunt" would comment: "Kawangki mo na si Sakay."
They related to me that when they were still young they would flee whenever
they heard the sounds of horses' hoofs - the group of Sakay...
They also related that the Americans (including blacks/negroes???)
rode on big horses. But now I wonder if the "bandits" they saw were really Sakay & his men because according to the literature the Americans & its native force the Constabulary created fake "Sakays" to discredit the real one.
Just like today, there are real ASGs, MNLFs, MILFs, NPAs etc and there are fake ones...
When faced by a certain group, one should ask: which one are you, the real ASG/NPA?
or the gov't. ASG/NPA? U.S. ASG/NPA? RUSSIAN ASG/NPA? BRITISH ASG/NPA?
Some other third-force-controlled entity??? I don't mind any group or any ideology for
as long as it is/they are GENUINE...
EXAMINE THE ACCOMPANYING PHOTO TAKEN FROM ONE OF THE LINKS BELOW.
The two men at the back are L to R:
Benito Natividad & Lucio De Vega
Front row L to R:
Julian Montalan, Francisco Carreon, Sakay & Leon Villafuerte

Sakay & De Vega were hanged as bandits (tulisanes). Montalan later got married to a rich Chinese businessman's daughter in Palawan & prospered.
Am not sure if Villafuerte is related to some politicians with the same surname.
NOTE VERY VERY WELL:
SAKAY was an ORIGINAL TONDO KATIPUNERO associated with the SUPREMO Bonifacio himself. He also served as adjutant to Emilio Jacinto & was tasked to distribute the
revolutionary newspaper KALAYAAN... He was a CORE MEMBER of the KATIPUNAN!!!
MORE RIGHTFUL LEADER than AGUINALDO!!!
In the picture, Francisco Carreon clearly appears as the "right-hand man' of Sakay.
If I'm not mistaken Carreon was a member of the SUPREME COUNCIL (Kataastaasang Konseho) of the Katipunan!
Meaning he was not an ordinary guy!!! And yet he was just the right hand man of Sakay!!!
AND PLEASE PLEEZ NOTE THEY ARE WEARING SHOES! MILITARY BOOTS FOR THAT MATTER!
I can still remember in Batangas as a child I still met people both young & old
who could not even afford to buy/wear bakya or wooden clogs, much less slippers (Today's FLIP FLOPS!).
In short these men were no mere criminals but highly organized freedom-fighters!!!
So all these people getting killed & shown in 2007 Philippine MEDIA as "criminals"
ARE THEY REALLY CRIMINALS???
Sometimes the evil thought comes to my mind to punish both the oppressor & the oppressed
Why don't I exploit today's stupid generation & organize a well-publicized revolutionary
group part of whose mission is to seek damages/reparations from the U.S. government
for their unjust treatment of SAKAY. This would be worth millions of dollars & I need
not earn my daily bread!!! (Of course, less ambitious than creating a religious cult!!! HAR!
But all this is just another pipe-dream.. HO-HUM...
