THE TOUCH
vacation time 1990 or so+ In a room in my aunt's Olongapo Zambales property
Although we had our own room on the 2nd floor, I preferred
to sleep in my cousin Hermie's room which he shared with Cosme (or "Randy")
The room was constantly dark & I sleep soundly in a very dark room
[Like my mother, I am a very "shallow" sleeper. That is I am easily awakened by the slightest
sound & most especially by bright light... I envy those who snore...]
My aunt had a souvenir shop for US SERVICEMEN that was open until 2:00 AM.
But I slept at 9:00 & woke up at midnight to play chess, GG or pusoy or talk with
my cousin & other people at the store until closing time.
One night I was sleeping...
I felt a touch if I remember correctly [but I'm no longer sure] in my thigh or my torso.
My immediate reaction was to swipe at this foreign body on top of me.
It was repeated a second time & again I swiped at the imagined "mouse" that had "climbed up" to me...
I immediately got up & opened the light expecting to find a mouse of cockroach (but cockraoch have sharp/pointed legss)
running about...
But no mouse or cockroach around... The room was
about 2+m by 4+m [AM not good at estimating]... very clean & "sealed" with screened windows
& rubber liners on the door. Mice & cockroaches simply cannot get in or out of the room...
THE TOUCH felt EXACTLY like a finger thrust in one's body. Put your pointing finger on your thigh
like when you're feeling if the thigh is solid or plastic... THAT's how THE TOUCH felt...
To prevent the "mouse" from pestering me, I set a teheras or aluminum folding bed &
placed it on top of the original wooden bed & improvised a double deck bed... I continued my sleep...

The other wooden bed in the room was HERMIE's & it even had a mosquito net (KULAMbo) though the
room had screened windows. The strange thing is that there is a chain pull switch that led
to the bed. It was designed so that the occupant of the bed could instantly open the light...

Later I narrated the "mouse" story (=THE TOUCH) to my cousin & there & then the TRUTH about
the weird frightening experience which even "Randy" (or "Cosme") may have experienced too!
[It's only NOW that I realize maybe that was the reason why this third person seldom
slept in that room & slept somewhere else. He might have also experienced THE TOUCH...
but did not talk about it... My cousin explained to me the EXACT reason why he installed
the chain pull switch was precisely to "catch" whatever "it" was - that thing that
touched him while he slept... When he felt it or was awakened by it he had
to switch on the light but had to stand up to reach the wall switch...
I'm having goosebumps or my skin hair are standing this very moment...
so NOW I utter the three QULs of ISLAAMIC prayer....

THE CHAIN SWITCH + THE DOUBLE BED + THE TOUCH + THE SCORPION = JINN

THE TOUCH - I can only think of FOUR (4) explanations for this:
1) SCIENTIFIC: an E.T. (ultimately a material being) playing a joke on us...
2) SCIENTIFIC: Remote mind/psychic control again joke on us...
3) OCCULT: WITCHCRAFT/SIHR
4) RELIGIOUS/ISLAAMIC: A malevolent JINN ("Shaytan") teasing us...
THE SCORPION strengthens this fourth possibility

There is more to this story because adjacent to that room was another room
where a strange happening/event had also occured to its female occupants.

dozing off while watching evening news...
until I tuned to Eli Soriano TV program discussing the Bible
something about "speaking in tongues" & "foretelling the future"
It was in Tagalog & these are my translations into
English of "pagsasalita ng wika" & "panghuhula"
[He was discussing a section of I Corinthian.]
According to Soriano as per BIBLE foretelling is good
or NOT FORBIDDEN!
I thought in ISLAAM we are not supposed to
engage in fortune-telling & gambling...
I was laughing so much I lost my sleepiness
maybe I dont need to drink coffee...
Even JINNS have no knowlege of the future,

THE SCORPION
>10 years ago in my late aunt's Olongapo Zambales property
while sleeping inside a room I noticed crawling on the floor
a scorpion about one inch long. I thought that was odd for the
room was quite "sealed" from the inside... It was very clean/well kept
only there was a drainage pipe's "clog access" protruding in one corner...
inside the room it's like being inside a cave or underground chamber
'coz it was constantly dark.
But I kept the low ceiling incandescent lamp with chain switch on & I was
sleeping on a teheras or folding bed atop another wooden bed!
These two facts: that the bed was a makeshift "double deck
bed" & the light had an extra chain control switch have a single/solo
reason [which I shall detail later in another story]
will give one an idea why (i consider) the SCORPION was a JINN!
This weird/frightening story about THE TOUCH shows that
EITHER witchcraft is/JINNs are real OR human beings have found
a scientific way to extend the senses as in "mental projecion"
or "out-of-body travel"...

I want the reader to ponder the connnection between
the terms in my formula/equation:
THE SWITCH + THE DOUBLE DECK + THE SCORPION = JINN!

THE SNAKE
Spent the night in my cousin's house Took a bath Noticed stone plug A snake went into the hole/drain...
was reminded of advice of Muslims regarding JINNs in the form of snakes if seen in one's house...
This happened inside the bath/comfort room of my cousin HERMIE
who was the occupant of the room in my first account before/above
& the one who improvised the chain switch. (I improvised the double deck.)
Both improvisations were due to a SINGLE CAUSE/REASON: THE TOUCH!
Note: THE SNAKE experience came later after THE SCORPION.

My! TIME really FLIES!
A major or minor sign according to MUSLIMS is the rapid flow of TIME...

IMITATING [as in "TAQLID"] the style of Western existential
writers like Camus, Sartre with their single-word titles...

THE COCKROACH
About a week ago I found a cockroach that was shedding its coat.
It looked white as milk & only "1 step" away from freeing itself
from its old covering.
[I didnt know cockroaches also undergo "MOLTING".]
It wasnt moving & I thought it was dead. I immediately put it
in a clear plastic bag with the intent of donating or even selling (! : ))
it to interested biologists/zoologists or students for use as exhibit item.
I let in some air in the bag.
After about five (5) days it was still stationary but it was alive.
The third day I was surprised to find out it had re-entered its coat!
I thought, "Gininaw siguro kaya bumalik." It looked naked in its pure
white state of molting & returned to its dark reddish brown usual appearance.
Two days ago I discovered it had escaped by chewing off the plastic.
I wonder where it is now. I entertain the idea that it might have been a "non-ordinary" cockroach. In ISLAAMIC tradition/lore they say JINNs can appear as animals.
But I DOUBT if one would ever appear as a cockroach!
I am more inclined to believe THE SCORPION I saw years back inside a room
in ZAMBALES was a JINN! And my cousin HERMIE's THE SNAKE in his bathroom...
More about these strange incidents/experiences later...
We have so many cockroaches here in the house that we kill at least two a day.
No, we are not unsanitary in habits but the house is really full of gaps/openings
that mice & cockroaches, spiders & crickets can go in & out"at will".

Of course, I kill mice & cockroaches while invoking the name of the CREATOR...
Am not really following the Hindu JAIN way but I BELIEVE I HAVE NO RIGHT

One should realize how GRAVE it is to KILL a HUMAN BEING whether in RETALIATION,
as a JUDGE-EXECUTIONER or in MERCY-KILLING or ABORTION.
"EUTHANASIA" is a relatively recent issue in PHILOSOPHY & I wonder
if ISLAAMIC JURISPRUDENCE has tackled it & related issues...
Potentially verbose & contentious topix for discussion in this or another BLOG...

A few hours ago, we (including my aunt 8 mother) were almost arguing over why the
refrigerator was unplugged... Only my elder brother who is presently out of the house
& a distant male relative who did not sleep here for the night could have unplugged it. But these two persons have no REASON at all for doing this. Now WHO DUNNIT???... I told my aunt only the five of us could have done it. Of course I wil not accept that some other BEING did it.
I normally try to EXHAUST ALL MATERIALISTIC/SCIENTIFIC ARGUMENTS/POSSIBILITIES/EXPLANATIONS before adopting other MODES of EXPLANATION or alternative PERSPECTIVES.
NOTE: I DEFINITELY am NOT a NAIVE thinker because I have done DEPTH THINKING
FOR MYSELF & even reading into PHILOSOPHY OF MATHEMATICS, PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE...

Within a mall...
Of course, "they" or "big brother" or "the conspirators"
can find anybody out in a matter of minutes or even seconds
in the Internet... You don't believe me?...

Even watched with amusement an arcade game
which I think is really addictive once one engages
in it. The more I reflect upon the "mall phenomenon"
& the game arcades within , the more I am convinced
that indeed all these SCENTS, SIGHTS & SOUNDS, & TASTES
were "PLANNED" by somebody/somegroup...
Is it a matter of pure profit motive that they created or devised
such contrivances (& rides in, say, Enchanted Kingdom)?
The hammer game & its adherents I observed exemplifies
P.T. Barnum's "A sucker is born every minute."

Am still thinking about ORGANIZING this blog of mine...
I originally imagined a plain BLACK screen with an
image in the center which when clicked expands to
reveal several icons... but my sheer INERTIA (better
term for laziness) resisted any effort at actualizing
a nice idea... I prefer words and sentences to images
& sounds which remind me of Shakespeare's "full
of sound & fury signifying NOTHING"! Just try
going thru the hundreds or thousands of blogs in
the Internet & see how empty & nonsensical people
have become..

I didn't conceive my blog to be a mere "diary" or journal.
Anyway...

I prayed a while ago but am not that certain about
the exact time & direction of "QIBLAH" but I tried
my best...

Before I mention anything further about the AGAMA
I'll try to bring out first all the "UNHOLY" thoughts
still remaining in my brain. It is not that easy to
change one's ideas or convictions... It takes time
(& luck (?) ) to shift from disbelief to belief to faith...
But I assure the reader that it can be "developed"...
At least that is my experience or in my own case...

Existentialism... Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Camus...
Maybe I'll just provide key quotes that express

I suspect the culprit: the indecipherable ingredients
of packaged foods like noodles, powder juice
etc. I always say aloud at home "Nakaka-bobo"
or "Pampa-bobo" [i.e. makes one stupid or
[TANG was originally conceived as food for
astronauts. This is what I know.]
THat's why I have to limit the length of
my posts. I even believe one should limit
oneself to one (1) hour during public
speeches/lectures. Half hour for the talk
& the remaining half for exchange/
audience interaction.

translated by Stuart Gilbert) is one of the most important books I have
ever read which really HIT me. The novel tackles the murder of an
ARAB! I wonder if Bush was briefed about MY life... because I read in one
website that Bush read or was holding or discussed or whatever this
work of Camus... I will discuss it later as a matter of course...

& was able to ask a question but couldn't
compose my thoughts clearly/logically
so wasn't able to exploit the full opportunity

Learned that "environmentalism" & "C02
problem" are the gimmicks of some groups...

I thought: why are some people not satisfied
with their own problems/misery/happiness
& try to INVOLVE others... I am definitely
not like them because I live my life privately/
to myself... Maybe I'm autistic without
knowing it??? They say that man is a social
animal (i.e. gregarious) but I feel Albert Camus
was fundamentally correct that one's death is
in a sense "one's own." Even Albert Einstein said
something similar: that in the final analysis one is
alone by oneself in one's existence.
You will die alone. Even if you try to
involve your most beloved one in a death pact
I doubt if you'll end up together in the same place
in the hereafter. [Imagine, a la Rome & Juliet
lovers' "suicide" pact, but one ends up in
heaven/intermediate place while the other ends
up in hell! HAR!

I intend this site to be for LEARNERS
"SEEK KNOWLEDGE FROM CRADLE TO GRAVE."

[I shall intersperse my statements with some humorous
remarks once in a while so I expect my reader to be
not really that "serious-to-death";
I shall use common icons, symbols or shortcuts like
HAR! (GUFFAW/LAUGH), :) etc]

I shall express myself in the most popular
international language of English...

Am not so fond of machines actually though I realize
the computer is a reality that we cannot ignore...
Am too lazy or better lack the initiative to create
a highly visual blog with lots of moving images
& sounds like the usual ones we see.

I prefer IDEAS to SENSUAL IMPULSES
although I am an extremely SENSUAL person
(i.e.very sharp senses except for my eyes which are highly-myopic)

I can be very JUDGMENTAL though I try to be fair
to everyone & do not want to "hurt other persons' feelings"

Of course, my OBSESSION is TRUTH
So, you may consider me a TRUTH-SEEKER
